PRECEDENTS II

As for aesthetics are concerned, I had a hard time finding how I wanted to portray my film. Since I saw my piece more like a folktale, I looked at illustrators that I respect greatly. One of them, who I've kept for inspiration until the present, is the influential Russian illustrator Ivan Bilibin who depicted Russian folktales, and Revolutionary cartoons during the 1905 revolt. He was inspired by Slavic folklore.

His color schemes and emphasis on line and patterns are beautiful. I am hoping to have a more mono-chromatic overtone with Blue as the dominant hue, and have the line quality of my drawings drive the motion of the animation.
